  3. Georgia: 12%
  4. North Carolina: 10%
  5. Alabama: 6%
  6. Mississippi: 5%
  7. South Carolina: 5%
  8. Tennessee: 5%
  9. Kansas: 2%
  10. South Dakota: 1%
  11. Wyoming: less than 1%

Notes: The Coverage Gap exists for those earn too much to quality for Medicaid, but fall below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level, and which is the minimum level for Marketplace insurance coverage. There were 2.2 million adults in the Coverage Gap in 2019.
