AANP: 6 Takeaways from the Nurse Practitioner COVID-19 Survey

- 79% of NP respondents had reused PPE (personal protective equipment).
- 53% of NPs had been exposed to COVID-19 in their practice or somewhere else.
- 39% of NPs said they were in a high-risk group due to age or pre-existing conditions.
- 9% sought alternative accommodations to avoid exposing their family members.
- 51% of NPs said their practices have adopted, or increased use of, telehealth and virtual platforms to continue to see patients during the pandemic.
- 58% of NPs reported implementing new screening protocols and patient flow models in their practices.
Notes: The survey of over 4,800 nurse practitioners was conducted May 8 through 17.
