- Among all media, the Internet is the primary source of health information for teens,
- About a quarter of teens have used digital health tools
- Many teens say they have changed their behavior as a result of online health information
- Teens are most likely to use the Internet for health promotion and preventive health, rather than for diagnoses, treatment, or information for friends
- Most teens are cautious about social media and health information
- Fitness and nutrition are the top issues teens research online
- There are substantial digital and health divides among youth
- Teens rely heavily on search engines when looking for health information
- The vast majority of teens are at least “somewhat” satisfied with the health information they find online
- At the same time, many teens come across “negative” health information online
