- For those initially hospitalized with a primary diagnosis of infectious diseases, the rate of VTE-related hospital readmission: 2.0%
- For those initially hospitalized for respiratory diseases: 1.6%
- Cancer had the highest rate: 3.9%, of which 51.3% were for a primary diagnosis of VTE
- For those initially hospitalized for heart failure: 1.9%
- For those initially hospitalized for ischemic stroke: 1.4%
- For those initially hospitalized for rheumatic diseases: 1.7%
