Notes: Private plans exclude Medicaid and Medicare plans. This year, the NCQA ranked 227 HMOs and point-of-service plans with a total enrollment of about 42 million. Not all HMOs are on the list; some do not submit data to the NCQA, or submit insufficient data, and others decline to make it public.
