- Prescription drug prices increased 8.77% overall in 2016
- The average annual Rx price increase was 9.98% over the last three years
- In comparison, the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) reported a 2.10% increase for 2016
- For Q1 2017, the Truveris NDI indicates that drug prices increased another 2.33%
- Branded drugs increased 12.92% in 2016
- Generic drugs increased 0.32% in 2016
- Specialty drugs increased 7.93% in 2016
