Barriers Physicians Encountered When Using Information from Outside Organizations

- 44% of physicians indicated a great extent of difficulty finding important information due to a large amount of low-value information (versus experiencing this to some extent or not at all).
- 40% indicated that information was not integrated into their EHR to a great extent.
- 32% indicated that the entire patient record was not available to a great extent.
- 23% indicated that key information was missing within the patient's record to a great extent.
- 6% to 7% of respondents indicated not encountering these barriers at all.
Notes: From a cross-sectional survey of 2,088 family medicine physicians in the U.S., conducted from December 12, 2021, to October 12, 2022.
